Ultra guide updates coming soon!

We had an absolute blast up in Killington this year! With it came new experiences and lessons learned that brought some of us closer to a finish and others on to the podium. It was a beautiful weekend and there is so much to share!

Regiment Elite Nate T - The Practical Dude

We’ve gotta promote our team elites when we can! Regiment Elite Nate has started his own blog and we’d love to share it with you guys.

About Nate “The Practical Dude”

My name is Nate and I am the principal author and designer for thepracticaldude.com. As the URL suggests, I consider myself a thoughtful yet practical person. I am not a professional athlete or trainer. I am not a professional consultant or a weight-loss counselor. I’m a regular guy that’s been there. I know how hard it is to juggle priorities and personal athletic ambition. I am a lifelong athlete, a father to 3 beautiful little girls, a husband, and an engineer. Since my first daughter was born I have learned much about time management, expectations, limits, improvising, and motivation. My athletic foundation is endurance. My keystone event the past several years has been a 24-hour obstacle race called World’s Toughest Mudder (Google it). Obstacle racing isn’t just running, it’s a hybrid sport. Running, jumping, crawling, climbing, swinging, and everything in between while wet, dirty, and feeling awesome! Thus, my fitness must include many physical disciplines; endurance, running, and agility are my main focus. I have not paid for a gym membership in over a decade. In 2018 and 2019 I ran 50 miles at World’s Toughest Mudder; all my training was (and still is) based from my home. That’s a testament to what can be accomplished with the right mindset. I sincerely hope my experience and writing will help you start, continue, and complete your journey. And then start a new one.

It’s nice to have that kind of fresh approach to fitness from the perspective that many of us share that juggles career and life events alike, so give his blog a visit!

The T3 is upon us!

The long wait is finally over! The T3 is set to begin at 0658 tomorrow morning. Live updates will be posted on our live updates page (refresh the page for new updates to load).

We’ll also be going live on Facebook throughout the day, so you won’t miss a single moment!

The Rubbish Ruck!

What a beautiful morning to spend over two hours picking up trash with a weighted ruck on!

Fantastic work to everybody who took part in today’s event both in-person and virtually in your own area! We burned some calories while making our roads much cleaner in the process, a win-win for everyone!

Exciting ruck events on the horizon!

Our team is split into three even endurance talents:

1) Ultrarunners

2) OCR

3) Ruck

The next couple of months are going to be exciting for our ruckers! We hope to see you all out at these fantastic events!

The next T3 has officially gone live!

Our team’s next signature event has been announced! March 19th, 2022.

We say that our team is comprised evenly of three separate disciplines - OCR, Ultrarunning and Rucking. The Tough Training Trials (T3) is a ‘sampler dish’ of all of the endurance events out there and a great opportunity for those to experience the other side of fitness without destroying their wallets in the process.

The event has optional pre-game challenges that registrants can complete to earn points, which in turn can be redeemed for special perks that will benefit everybody at the event. Though the T3 has solo components in it, everybody finishes the event together as a team. Want to see what past events have been about? Head over to our live updates page and scroll through the massive timeline of previous events.

Want to register and be a part of this legendary event? Look no further!

The 2021 Killington Ultra write-up is live!

There’s two major write-ups that are written for the Spartan Ulra, the guide and the personal write-ups and AARs. After a couple weeks of work, this 88 page long 17k+ word monster of a write-up details the final conclusion of a six-part series of Spartan Ultra write-ups that dates all the way back to 2013!

To make it easier to read there are plenty of pictures and video to guide the reader through the event. As always, thank you for your support! Check out our new write-up here!

We're back from Killington!

Thank you all for your kind words of thanks and support for what our team does. When we hear that you came out to do Killington because our prep guides gave you the confidence to at least show up, that means the world to us.

Even if you DNF’ed, you did what very few people could even do - show up.

That virtue alone makes you incredibly rare. Keep coming out there until you get what you want! Our own team was not unique in this as well. Of the four of us that went out there, only one of us came home with an ultra buckle.

The coming weeks will be comprised of many edits, modernizations and refinements to our ultra guide as well as the 2021 personal ultra story. Stay tuned, and recover well!
